Custom Car audio set up question?
I am getting ready to buy a audio system for my 2003 Chevy Silverado Reg cab truck. I plan on buying everything online (ebay) and having it installed at best buy or somewhere similar. I plan to buy Polk audio 6.5 MMC6500 components for the doors. Infinity Kappa 4×6’s for the rear panels. A custom box with two 10″ JL audio, or Elemental Designs subs. I know I need an amp to push the subs. Do I need another amp to push both the 6.5 components and 4×6’s? Or just an amp for the components and run the 4×6’s off the deck? Thanks for any help.
I already bought a 2 channel amp for the components (oops). Should I buy separate amp for the 4×6’s?
For sound systems start with the head unit:
-Dont cheap out, this will determine your entire sound.
Component speakers:
-Make sure they have a crossover ( splits high and low frequencies)
-Mount the tweeter and woofer as close to each other as possible for best results.
You will need an amp to run your subs
You can also choose to buy a 4 channel amp to run your main speakers and that will sound better than using deck power.
If you dont understand ohms and amp stability get a pro to help you choose which parts you should buy.
